Band Aid is the biggest fundraiser bringing in $12,000 each year.  This event is All Hands on Deck.  We send car loads of parents and uniformed band members to neighborhoods in our school district to knock on doors and collect donations.  Band Aid is an all day event that is a favorite among students and parents.  There will be so many different types of help we need, that something will be sure to fit your comfort level.

Chaperones are needed during Band Camp.  You could sign up for a whole day, a morning, an afternoon, or just a few hours.  Chaperoning Band Camp is a great opportunity to watch the band begin to grow musically in just one week.

Chaperones are also needed for games (home & away) and competitions.   The parents will keep up with the first aid kit and medical binder in case of an emergency.

Besides Marching Band and Cheerleaders, what do you think of most at football games?  FOOD!  The MBPA runs the concession stand at Panther Stadium and is able to keep a percentage of the proceeds to support the band.

Our parents that work in the concession stands have their own kind of fun.  There are many jobs needed to make sure the stand runs smoothly.

Pit is the group of percussion instruments that do not march: marimbas, vibes, xylophones, gong, etc. The pit crew is responsible for helping to get all of the pit equipment and Drum Major stands onto the field at halftime at home games as well as after the game at away games and at competitions.   The MP2 Pit Crew is Award Winning!  You do not have to be strong to help with pit crew.

VBODA is another All Hands on Deck event for MP2.   Massaponax is fortunate to be able to host the annual Marching Band Assessments.  VBODA is a FULL day of hosting other bands in our region for their assessments.   We do close up all of our positions in time for everyone watch the final band of the day perform - MP2!

There is a variety of positions available throughout the day.  Again, you can take a morning, afternoon, or all day shift.

Music in the Parks is an event that welcomes bands, orchestras, and choral groups to perform in front of a panel of judges.  After they perform at MHS, they spend the day at Kings Dominion.  We provide support for the program.

Meal Deal Volunteers feed our band members on game nights.  MP2 rehearses Friday after school until 5PM.  The students then gather in the Commons to eat together before getting ready for home games or loading buses for away games.   Students will purchase meals and we we will pick them up from local restaurants and serve the students.

After Home Football Games, we clean up the stadium.  We will collect all the trash left in the stands and take trash collected, as well as from the Concession Stand to the Dumpsters behind the school.
